12 July 2009  Nitrocellulose Price Increase

Attachment

In common with the rest of the commodity sector we have experienced unprecedented increases in raw material, energy and transport costs over the last twelve months and our suppliers are now informing us of further increases planned for the second half of this year and beyond. As a result Nobel NC can no longer continue to absorb or offset these cost increases for our customers.
As of July 1st we are consequently raising our prices for all grades of Nitrocellulose in all markets by a minimum of 15%.

We realise the difficulties this will cause but in a world of record energy prices and in a sector where the basic feedstock prices are being driven by a very tight market, this increase is absolutely needed.
